Water supply

In the municipality of Visp, more than 2 million m3 of drinking water is consumed per year, more than half of which is made available to the local industrial companies.

The Hohbrunnen water treatment plant and the Wasen reservoir, together with the extensive network of pipelines and the spring catchments in the Baltschiedertal valley and the groundwater wells in Chatzuhüs-Hoobrunnu, form the core of the Visper supply infrastructure. With the inter-communal special-purpose association Regional Water Supply South Ramp, a new supply pipeline was realised in 2021 and regional cooperation was established to ensure the supply of drinking water.
