Brisolée Visp - 2026

Traditional Brunch from the Region

Fall is once again the season for the Brisolée this year. On Saturday, October 10, 2026, guests and locals will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Brisolée in Visp.

10.10.26 starting at 11:00 until 16:00 o'clock

Once again this year, the members of the Eyholz Chestnut Guild (Kastanienselve Eyholz) will be serving fresh chestnuts, cheese, cured ham, jerky, apples, grapes, and “new” wine.

Guests will also once again have the opportunity to purchase freshly roasted chestnuts from the Eyholz Chestnut Guild on site and treat themselves to a delicious dessert at the well-stocked cake stand, which offers pies, cakes, tea, and coffee.

«The Brisolée actually originated in Valais for practical reasons. Workers in the fields wanted to celebrate a small festival after a day’s work. To do so, they simply used the products they could harvest or produce themselves. These included chestnuts, cheese, wine, or cider, and later on, bacon and dried meat. This is how the tradition of the Brisolée came about, and it has been preserved to this day.»
