Parking garages and parking lots

The parking garages and parking spaces are managed by the Visp Regional Police (email: regionalpolizei@visp.ch). Parking is generally permitted only in designated and/or marked parking spaces. Violations are subject to penalties under the Swiss Road Traffic Act.
Special Permits
The Visp Municipal Police issues special permits, for example, for access to and from Bahnhofstrasse or for temporary parking in unmarked public spaces. Prior approval from the Visp Municipal Police must be obtained for this. Without the consent of the Visp Municipal Police, the permit is invalid.
Long-Term Parking Permits
The number of long-term parking permits is limited per parking space. Waiting lists are in place. A parking permit entitles the holder to unlimited parking in the designated public parking lot. A specific parking space is not guaranteed.
Depending on the parking lot and availability, various long-term parking permits are available. The minimum rental period is one month. Permits for multiple months are offered only as consecutive periods. Reservations are not possible. Long-term parking permits that have not been renewed within 60 days will be canceled.
Long-term parking permits can be purchased or ordered from the regional police at the counter, by phone, or by email, upon advance payment. Initial registrations must be completed at the counter (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. / 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.) upon presentation of the vehicle registration documents.
