The municipality of Visp is taking another step toward the future in modernizing its services and is one of the first four municipalities in Valais to offer a service through the government portal online.vs.ch.
In the future, to apply for a certificate of residence, you will no longer need to visit the municipality’s virtual service desk but will instead use the online.vs.ch portal. This is an important change, as you must verify your identity electronically when submitting an application via online.vs.ch. Thanks to this step, we know immediately who you are, and you no longer have to go through the tedious process of entering your personal information. As much of this information as possible is automatically populated based on what we already have on file. This allows you to benefit from a simpler and faster process that is just as recognized, traceable, and secure as the in-person service, but can be used without any time or location restrictions.

In mid-February, the municipality of Visp will introduce Peter Park’s digital parking management solution at the La Poste parking garage. The system operates without barriers or tickets; instead, it automatically calculates parking duration and fees using license plate recognition technology at the entry and exit points that complies with data protection regulations. Mobility Hub Parkservice Switzerland GmbH is responsible for operations at the parking facilities.
In the future, driving through the parking garage will be seamless and convenient, with no need to stop at all, because the digital parking management system operates without barriers or tickets. Instead, the solution scans vehicle license plates at the entrance and exit in compliance with data protection regulations and automatically calculates the parking duration and fee.
